The Team Selector Wheel splits a roster into balanced, random teams when no captain wants to pick sides. Spin once per person, or batch-assign by rotating through the team slots.
How the Team Selector works
Add each team name as a wheel entry, then spin for every player in turn. Alternatively, keep player names on the wheel and spin repeatedly to fill each team slot until everyone is placed.
Great for
Dodgeball, trivia night, kickball leagues, school PE classes, hackathon groupings, and conference workshops. Anywhere a coin flip feels unfair, the spinning wheel offers a more visibly random result.
Tips for balanced teams
Keep the list of teams equal to the number of groups you want. If skill differences matter, assign captains first by spinning once, then draft the rest. Duplicate a team slot to raise the chance a player lands in an understaffed group.

Can I make teams of equal size?
Yes. After each spin, remove the assigned team from the wheel until the round resets, so each team fills in a balanced way.

Can I keep the same teams for multiple games?
Spin once to build the rosters, then note them down. The wheel is stateless, so recording the results is how you preserve them for the next match.
What if a player is absent?
Simply skip their turn or remove their name before spinning, then redistribute remaining players across teams.
